Situated in stunning Provence in France, La Vieille Maison approached us to commission a new website design for their luxury holiday apartments.

La Vieille Maison holiday apartments in Provence, France came to us for advice on updating their look and feel, increasing visitor bookings globally, help to manage customer details and to give the new website design a more contemporary feel. Their existing website had worked well for them but it was time for an update and the software that they used to use to manage their bookings was becoming obsolete. Most of the bookings to the holiday apartment came via Alistair Sawdays website.

To start with, we defined a logo for the apartments and articulated the owners vision into a french style script that we felt represented the relaxed nature of a holiday but with an elegance that represented the holiday apartments themselves. This logo is to be embossed on accessories at the holiday apartments.

The website design has an effortlessly classical feel to it, once again replicating the interior design of the apartments and the muted colour palette represented colours from the Farrow and Ball range, some of which featured in the apartments themselves. We added a colour coded, branded availability calendar and streamlined the booking process. Customer details are all saved at the back end of the website to enable email marketing and to keep everything in one place. The previous bookings had been taken via a pdf document and we added a booking form with payment via bank transfer.

From an SEO perspective, we identified good performing keywords on a global scale and made sure that proper SEO foundations for the website were in place. Although SEO can take up to three months to generate good SERPs (search engine page results), the site went live in the week leading up to Christmas and within three weeks, there had been 12 bookings made direct through the website. A few minor tweaks and now both the contact us form and the booking form are being used regularly for enquiries and bookings. Traffic numbers direct to the site have now overtaken those from Sawdays themselves which is of benefit to the client. From a global perspective, new opportunities have been identified and bookings are coming from all over the world; most recent from Australia, Germany, USA as well as UK.
